Classical Piece of the Day 6 November: Heinrich Schütz and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Today in 1672 the German composer Heinrich Schütz died and in 1893 the Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky died.

The first piece is Schütz’s Symphoniae Sacrae III Op. 12 performed by the Stuttgart Chamber Choir under the baton of Frieder Bernius

The second piece is Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture (with cannons) performed by the Minnesota Orchestra under the baton of Antal Dorati
